Intermediate

Crochet Hook: K/10.5 or 6.5 mm hook

Yarn Weight: (6) Super Bulky/Super Chunky (4-11 stitches for 4 inches)

Measurements: Approx 38 ins [96.5 cm] square.

Materials
:

  • Bernat® Pipsqueak (250 g/8.8 oz; 274 m/300 yds)
    • Main Color (MC) (59420 Pretty Pink) 1 ball
    • Contrast A (58005 Whitey White) 1 ball
    • Contrast B (59306 Baby Baby Print) 1 ball
  • Size 6.5 mm (U.S. K or 10½) crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge.

Gauge: 3 groups of 3 dc and 5 rows = 4 ins [10 cm] in pat.

Instructions:
With MC, ch 101.
1st row: (RS). 1 dc in 4th ch from hook (counts as 2 dc). 1 dc in next ch. *Ch 1. Miss next ch. 1 dc in each of next 3 ch. Rep from * to end of ch. 25 groups of 3 dc.
2nd row: Ch 3 (counts as dc). 1 dc in each of next 2 dc. *Ch 1. Miss next ch-1 sp. 1 dc in each of next 3 dc. Rep from * to end of row. Join A. Turn.
3rd row: With A, ch 4 (counts as dc and ch 1). *Miss next dc. 1 dc in next dc. Yoh and draw up a loop in next ch-1 sp 2 rows below. (Yoh and draw through 2 loops on hoo twice– long dc made. 1 dc in next dc. Ch 1. Rep from * to last dc. 1 dc in top of ch 3. Turn.
4th row: With A, ch 4 (counts as dc and ch 1). *1 dc in each of next 3 sts. Ch 1. Miss next ch-1 sp. Rep from * to last dc. 1 dc in 3rd ch of ch 4. Join B. Turn.
5th row: With B, ch 3 (counts as dc). 1 dc in next ch-1 sp. 1 dc in next dc. *Ch 1. Miss next dc. 1 dc in next dc. 1 long dc in next ch-1 sp 2 rows below. 1 dc in next dc. Rep from * to last 4 sts. Ch 1. Miss next dc. 1 dc in next dc. 1 dc in next ch-1 sp. 1 dc in 3rd ch of ch 4. Turn.
6th row: With B, ch 3 (counts as dc). 1 dc in each of next 2 dc. *Ch 1. Miss next ch-1 sp. 1 dc in each of next 3 dc. Rep from * to end of row. Join MC. Turn.
7th row: With MC, as 3rd row.
8th row: With MC, as 4th row. Join A. Turn.
9th row: With A, as 5th row.
10th row: With A, as 6th row. Join B. Turn.
11th row: With B, as 3rd row.
12th row: With B, as 4th row. Join MC. Turn.
13th row: With MC, as 5th row.
14th row: With MC, as 6th row. Join A. Turn.
Rep 3rd to 14th rows 3 times more (50 rows in total). Fasten off.
