I love that the colors used for this blanket are gender neutral. Sometimes you will have to make a blanket for someone who is not going to find out the sex of their baby until it is born, and that can be difficult when attending a shower. This would be a great baby shower gift for anyone! If you are not fond of these colors, you could make this in other gender neutral colors, too.

This is a very gender neutral / monochromatic color for a baby blanket which fits in really well with the current times and is nothing like the tried and true traditional colors I grew up with of yellow and green as neutral colors. This blanket pattern looks pretty simple and should work up rather quickly.

This is not the typical color for a baby blanket as a lot of you have stated but that is what will make it unique. And is there some research out there that monotones are more interesting to a baby than those bright colors? At any rate, I love the idea.

The title of this project made me click into it just to see what it was all about. Gray and baby blanket usually do not go in the same sentence but the result is beautiful. Not my first choice but beautiful nonetheless.

This is so cute and so easy. I read the directions and it is a very easy pattern. It's written very clearly and easy to follow and if you can't follow the written directions, there is even a video to help. This is perfect for beginners. Thank you for offering this.

Wow I really like this pattern! The ripple design is outstanding! I can see this being good for a baby afghan...comfy and warm. There are many helpful things on this website too including a ripple stitch tutorial. This blanket would be soooo easy to taylor to the new mom's color palette with a wide variety of color possibilities! Leave a comment...

I like this quite a bit! I am not sure why they would want to call this lovely afghan a granny gray. The pattern is easy to follow and it is a slightly varied version of the round and round design of a basic granny square. You could probably use the Colorwheel (sold at Michaels) yarn as a good alternative as they have dozens of beautiful colors!

For the life of me, I cannot get this pattern to look like the one in the picture. And the end of the row has yet to come out right. I really like this blanket and like the greys and white but I have ripped it out and started over numerous times. Honestly, I can't get it Any advice?

Drab colors I want to make this blanket. Here's the link to the pattern. http//thestitchinmommy.com/2014/05/granny-ripple-b == lanket.html. I've also pinned this afghan.

I wouldn't think shades of grey for a baby blanket, but this stitch pattern is gorgeous - it almost looks pixelated! I think this would be sure cute with some pastels, but it's definitely striking as is.

The pattern itself is pretty - but I can't see using shades of gray for a baby blanket.

Guess it depends on the person. My friend's niece loves gray, white and yellow combinations for her baby and it looks very nice.

So, by all means, complain about a color YOU don't like. Wow. Greys are "in" now, and someone might like it! Or someone's client might order it in grey, perhaps! I've made this blanket -- it's a great stitch, and it turns out beautiful. But you CAN use whatever color YOU want! )
