I would like to download the pattern for this afghan but I get a download error. Would you please let me know how I can get the pattern? Thank you!

File not found ! Featured in Hooked on Crochet from All Free - today - June 10, 2013 ... but not found!!

I have tried to download this pattern several times and I keep getting an error message. I added it to my list and my folder but I still can't open the pattern itself.br Please helpbr

Sorry folks for the error in my pattern. There was a typo and now has been fixed. I appreciate you telling me about it so I could fix it for others who find this in the future. :) Thanks again.

In step 2 it says "2DC in the next 2 chain, 2 DC in the next 2 chain" If you do this, your blanket will get wider and wider. I only did 2 double crochets in two chains, not four * to *. I believe this was a typo. I also made sure I had the same number of stitches in each row to make sure my blanket was even.

If you omit the last "2DC in the next 2 chain" you will end up with an even 12 stitches from * to *. don't know why that didn't show up in my first post. ;)

Thank you so much Elissa Anne! I've done ripple afghans before, and was very confused with adding 4 stitches and only decreasing by 2. I tried following the pattern, but it came out a mess.

Question. It doesn't say to turn at the end of each row. I have worked the pattern but have a problem at the one end. Wanted to make sure you do turn at the end. Thanks. Really a pretty pattern.

Watch the video from thecrochetcrowd.com (link below). It shows the calypso wave pattern step by step. http://www.thecrochetcrowd.com/calypso-wave-afghan/249-christmas-stockings.html

When it says to use next two stitches to create DC2TOG - it means that you start a DC in one stitch but don't finish it - and then it's like a DC decrease. Basically you "wrap yarn around hook and insert into stitch, pull yarn through - you will have 3 wraps of yarn on your hook, wrap yarn around hook and pull through 2....then you wrap yarn around hook and enter into next dc or ch and then complete dc stitch like normal...it will look like the two are combined. Think others refer to this as a dc decrease? When it says next two stitches get 2DC each - it means 2 dc in each of next two stitches. Hope this helps you out....

I too am finding this a hard pattern to follow. Can you please explain DC and DC2TOG a little better. I do like the way the pattern looks and would really like to try and make it. Thanks

I am also very frustrated with this pattern as written. may I ask, what is the difference between: "next two stitches get 2DC each" AND "next two stitches create DC2TOG" ???

I am frustrated with this pattern after many attempted tries at getting it right. I am wondering if the pattern repeats itself as in row 2 and 3. Is this a mistake or is it really how to crochet the pattern? Please read the pattern and let me know. I like the way the pattern looks but using the pattern as written is not working for me.

I have made blankets with this similar pattern. There are so many great baby colored yarns to use and so many options when making this pattern. It looks really great with a yarn that has a shiny thread running through it. Alternating the colors by your own design of number of rows makes the possibilities endless. You can make it 100's of times and never have to make the same blanket twice...Use your imagination and go to work....
